How to Care for Linen

By following these guidelines, your linen will stay soft, durable, and beautiful for years.

Washing

Machine Wash

Use a gentle cycle with lukewarm (below 40°C/104°F) water and mild detergent. Wash with similar colours and fabrics, avoiding heavy items like towels.

Hand Wash

Soak in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Gently swish; avoid twisting or scrubbing.

Bleach & Fabric Softener

AVOID! These weaken the fibres and can cause discolouration.

Drying

Air Dry

Lay flat or hang on a padded hanger. Avoid clothespins and high heat.

Tumble Dry

If necessary, use low heat (less than 55°C/130°F) for a gentle cycle.

Ironing

Steam

Iron on medium heat while slightly damp. For dark linens, press on the reverse side.

Wrinkling

Linen naturally wrinkles, which is part of its charm.

Stain Removal

Spot Clean

Dab stains with mild detergent or use a baking soda-vinegar mixture. Wash in cold water for stubborn stains.

Important Tips

Pre-Wash Shrinkage

Linen may shrink up to 10% after the first wash.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry, and airy place to avoid mold.

No Hot Water!

Hot water can cause shrinkage and fading.
